12 months ago, Business Link South Yorkshire launched Design Works in conjunction with the Design Council. Big business uses design throughout its operations as a matter of course. The aim of Design Works is to pass on this good practice to SMEs, encouraging them to take advantage of the wealth of creative expertise in the area – particularly in branding, packaging and product design.New telemarketing business, Voice, has Design Works to thank not only for its branding but its name too. Managing Director, Phil Kitchen, recognised that brand identity and positioning are of crucial importance in this area of business. “Unfairly or not, the telemarketing industry has a rather negative reputation. Our philosophy is to break that stereotype and exceed all expectations in terms of quality and results.” The company wanted to differentiate itself from the competition and develop a strong sense of identity that both clients and staff could relate to.
Sheffield design agency, Iris, created the name ‘Voice’, developed strong, contemporary branding and defined a consistent message and strategy for communication. For Phil and his colleagues it has been a valuable and enjoyable process. “We worked closely with Iris every step of the way, so we felt in control of what was being developed. The new branding has helped to shape the business and to establish a clear direction for staff and clients alike.
